Mobile CRM is using mobile to execute a database strategy. This is different from using mobile as a channel strategy.
You can think of it like a movie. Yes it’s important to have great features like sound, picture special effects, plot, actors (i.e. great channels like SMS, MMS, QR Codes, Social Media, Mobile Web, Mobile Email), but your movie will not be well received unless you use these features in conjunction with each other in order to connect with your audience.
Mobile Marketing CRM is simply the extension of mobile CRM into the marketing world. It’s executing a database marketing strategy using mobile communication channels in order to sell/advocate a particular product/message.

Way too many folks bolt on a mobile call-to-action at the last minute and are campaign focused. My advice to clients is to think about mobile initiatives from a list building approach to find those subscribers who want to consume your content (whatever that may be) and then map a number of campaigns towards that goal throughout the year. I.e. Set a goal to have 100K mobile users by the end of the year and then use each of your marketing campaigns to steadily grow that list. Your mobile subscribers will likely be your most engaged and loyal customers.
I found this article from 2010 to be particularly insightful. It discusses mobile marketing's effect on CRM/loyalty programs.
There is a lot of information contained on the Msgme blog @ blog.msgme.com that discusses mobile CRM and mobile marketing CRM. In addition to the blog, I would recommend the case studies (http://msgme.com/c/SolutionsCaseStudies) and webinars (http://blog.msgme.com/tag/webinar/) sections.
